Clients with earthquake damaged land or property or contents need to lodge a claim with EQC first on 0800 326 243 or online.

For clients who need to make a claim for damage that's not covered by EQC (eg. damage to driveways, swimming pools, commercial buildings or vehicles) they can call AMP General Insurance direct on 0800 808 121 or email AMP newclaims@ampg.co.nz to make a claim.

People first
Safety is most important of all. Remember aftershocks may occur, so be prepared to drop, cover and hold for protection. Get everyone to a safe location.

In the event of an emergency, phone 111.

Then property
Carefully check the main structure of any buildings for damage. If it seems unsafe, don't go inside, or leave immediately. Turn off any main water if you think a pipe may be broken or leaking and take care around any broken items or things that may fall.

Take photos
It's a good idea to take photos of the damage which will help AMP resolve any claims more quickly. 

Take care of yourself and others
The earthquakes were severe and many will be feeling unsettled following the aftershocks and tsunami warnings. We urge our clients to take care and look after the health, safety and security of yourself and your families.
